Intersteels have a proven track record of delivering complex projects
Over 30 years of construction experience, from large industrial structures to props and wailer systems.
Our in-house construction teams prepare detailed method statements for all activities presenting a risk to health and safety. These cover plant and equipment used, competence requirements, methodology, risk assessment and emergency controls. Lift plans are produced by our appointed personnel and communicated and monitored by either the appointed person or a nominated crane lift supervisor.
Risk assessments are undertaken for all Intersteels activities, varying in complexity from full HAZOP studies to generic qualitative assessments. We have a number of directly employed site managers, all qualified to NVQ Level 4 and IOSH accredited. They work closely with the main contractors’ site management team and attend daily co-ordination meetings. They also liaise with our design office, drawing offices and transport department to ensure that project requirements are fully met. We have experienced site personnel, all of who are fully trained, with 100% CSCS accreditation carrying out erection of projects throughout the UK.
All operatives are highly qualified and experienced.
They include erectors, platers and welders with industry qualifications such as NVQ’s, IOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS, CPCS, CCNSG, IPAF, PASMA and First Aid certifications. Our thorough inspection and testing includes dimensional surveying using electronic distance measuring equipment. This confirms steelwork alignment and levels to datum, and to integrate with existing structures. Fastener fitting and tightening inspection is carried out in accordance with national standards. Site welded projects have visual and non-destructive testing carried out by inspection and test technicians qualified and certified independently in accordance with BS EN 473.
Intersteels have a proven track record of delivering complex projects that require a ‘thinking outside the box’ approach. We have extensive experience in the design and installation of temporary works. Intersteels use the latest design methods and computer software to carry out temporary works design. Our construction teams will develop and install – in close liaison with the design department – through to the striking of the temporary works. Our vision is to operate with zero accidents. Given the scale and complexity of our operations, achieving this goal is a constant challenge that requires leadership, vigilance, innovation and regular training.
